Andrew Porter Limited is an ideal choice to handle your removals to Canada and you can be sure that with us your prized belongings are in the safest of hands.
Shipping to Canada can take between five to seven weeks to the east coast, and six to nine weeks to the west coast. For groupage shipments, which is a cheaper option where the space in your shipping container is shared with other people's belongings, you should allow seven to 10 weeks for either coast. You should also allow for travel time of up to 10 days after your items are collected from the port, depending on which area of Canada you are moving to.
If you require any items delivering quickly, we can arrange an air freight service for added convenience.
When moving to Canada with Andrew Porter Limited, we will assign you with a dedicated move co-ordinator to guide you through the move process, making your life as stress-free as possible.
Your move co-ordinator will inform you of your shipment vessel and arrival date, as well as explaining customs protocols to you to ensure you are prepared. It is advisable to let professionals pack your belongings to move to Canada, because Canadian customs officials require a detailed inventory of shipments coming into the country.
We can advise you on restricted items which may not be allowed into Canada. Any treasured items you cannot take with you can be stored at our secure storage warehouse until you need them again.
Andrew Porter Limited is an expert in car transportation and we can assist you with all your needs when shipping cars to Canada.
All vehicles being imported into Canada must comply with the Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, in effect on the date the vehicle was manufactured. Any vehicles which were manufactured for sale in countries other than Canada and the USA will not comply with the standards and cannot be altered to become compliant. The only exceptions are if the vehicle is more than 15 years old or is a bus manufactured before January 1st 1971. If this applies to your vehicle you must have documentary proof such as receipts or registration papers. You must then contact the Canadian Registrar of Imported Vehicles (RIV) to confirm that your vehicle is eligible to enter Canada and that it is possible for it to be modified to be compliant with Canadian standards after import.
Andrew Porter Limited provides containerised vehicle shipment to Canada. Your motor vehicle can be secured in a dedicated container or can be packed along with your household items in a larger shipping container.
