Removals, storage and furniture logistics firm, Andrew Porter Limited, is helping five Preston police officers to complete a coast-to-coast charity bike ride.
The colleagues from Fulwood police station were keen to complete the challenge and raise funds for two Lancashire hospices, but had no way to transport their bikes to Whitehaven and retrieve them from Tynemouth after the three-day ride.
Andrew Porter Limited has stepped in to offer the cycle transportation free of charge, to help boost the funds donated to the charities.
"We are very grateful for the help of Andrew Porter Limited and everyone else who is sponsoring us for helping us to the best that we can for our chosen charities - Blackpool's Trinity and Brian House Hospices," PC Julian Andrews said.
"We all joined the Cycle to Work scheme a couple of years ago which got us hooked on cycling and we have been planning a big charity ride for almost a year. We know it will be a challenge, particularly the big climb up the Hartside Pass on day two, but we are all looking forward to it massively. With it being for charity there is a big responsibility for us to complete it so we have all been training hard."
Julian, along with colleagues PC Kris Dell and PCSOs Martin Mason, Matt Witte and Ash Lawton, will begin the 136-mile ride on Saturday 12th May, aiming to raise £1,200.
