Andrew Porter Ltd is pleased the Chancellor has announced an extension to the stamp duty relief programme in his Summer Statement.
We have been supporting campaigns to extend the relief to enable many more of our customers to complete home moves successfully while taking advantage of the significant tax breaks.
Our MD Tim Aspey told press: “We urge the Government to extend the relief to help individuals improve their personal circumstances, as well as assisting the wider economy.”
In February we had record numbers of customers in storage, hoping to move before the stamp duty holiday finished. However, many customers are reliant on factors out of their control to complete their sales or purchases.
The announcement that the stamp duty holiday will be extended for a further three months, until 30th June, will help many worried customers complete in good time.
The tax break means no stamp duty will be paid on the first £500,000 of a property, saving buyers up to £15,000.
