I just wanted to express in writing my (and the team at SEW) sincere thanks for all the hard work we have seen over the last four weekends. Both the crew and yourself really were top and a pleasure to work with. The way the guys went about the move demonstrated a very high standard and their efficiency was at times like watching a military operation.
I will definitely be recommending Andrew Porter to anyone in the laboratory business who is thinking of moving!
We recently used your company, Andrew Porter Ltd., to relocate our laboratory, the DNA Damage Response Group, from the Paterson Institute for Cancer Research in Manchester to the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology in Oxford.
The move went very smoothly and I would like to thank all involved for the professional and efficient service we received from Andrew Porter Ltd. In particular, John Best and Saul Emberton were helpful with arranging and planning the move, and were always available to quickly answer any questions we had in the run up to the move. Kim Paul was also very helpful with the finance side of the move.
I would also like to extend our thanks to the movers themselves, Rik Fletcher and Ryan Fletcher. They arrived at the Paterson Institute promptly, despite the Monday morning rush hour traffic, and were very helpful and efficient with packing our samples. Upon arrival in Oxford, they were again efficient at moving our samples into our new lab and ensured we had transferred everything into our new freezers.
We were delighted with the service we received from you, especially as moving a laboratory is a daunting proposition, and I would certainly recommend you to others who need to relocate their laboratory.
From the outset, we were impressed at the level of technical and regulatory knowledge and understanding from the team at Andrew Porter Limited.
They planned the relocation effectively in order to minimise downtime and all elements were carried out successfully and on schedule. It was helpful for us to have a single point of contact with a firm which was able to manage all elements of our lab moving needs.
I was delighted with the professionalism, efficiency and attention to detail of Andrew Porter Ltd in managing the relocation of my workplace laboratory equipment and ancillary items from London to Switzerland (Basel). From previous experience, moving a laboratory is a logistically complicated and stressful matter. From the earliest stages of planning to the delivery of the final crate, my experience was nothing but constructive and positive. Importantly, the import customs clearance paperwork was all done for us well ahead of time, and parking places were secured in advance to enable efficient loading/unloading of the three trucks close to the buildings. The crew doing the hard graft were extremely careful & helpful with packing and (dis)assembling equipment, cheerful, and intelligent about how they organised the loads into three separate 17 tonne trucks.
The attention to detail by the Andrew Porter Limited project team in advising us on the best methods for packing and then in the construction and delivery of the bespoke crates for the higher value laboratory equipment was also impressive. The biggest concern for us was the movement of the equipment and in particular the lasers and microscopes that have actually been custom built from scratch for our particular area of research. The specialised foam base you then provided for the crated items on the truck assisted in ensuring these items were handled incredibly sensitively, along with the packing and securing of these items in their crates by your crew members .
Overall, I was very impressed and satisfied, as everything couldn’t have gone more smoothly. I will need to move another part of my work in 6 months, and I will definitely ask AP to arrange the move for us again!
Despite being an internal move, the approach taken by OneSource and Andrew Porter Ltd was incredibly detailed. Communication between the two companies significantly reduced downtime, particularly in scheduling the post move IQ/OQ requirements whilst the care taken in handling our sensitive, high value equipment was first class.
In mid 2012 PerkinElmer partnered Andrew Porter Limited on a complex relocation project to assist a major global pharmaceutical client with a restructuring project. Following the move the head of European procurement commented that 'the move just happened'. Given the complexity of the move and the coordinated efforts involved there is no greater commendation than that.
Over 170 pieces of specialist laboratory equipment were relocated from Cambridge UK to Frankfurt in Germany and Vitry in France under one integrated project between Andrew Porter and PerkinElmer.
The Andrew Porter team packed all equipment over a 2 day period and the instrumentation and equipment was transported, delivered and unpacked in both Germany and France within a 5 day period. PerkinElmer teams in all three countries provided the technical resources to support the project and complete re installation, post move benchmarking and validation as required within three weeks.
